Pre-orders and backorders show an estimated ship date right on the product page. Here's how ship dates work and what happens if one runs late.

How ship dates work

When an item isn't ready to ship immediately, its product page shows an estimated ship date. That date comes straight from our live inventory and incoming-stock data, so it's the most accurate estimate we have. If several items on one order have different ship dates, the order ships once all of them are ready, and your confirmation shows the latest date across the order.

Pre-order vs. backorder vs. restock

  • Pre-order: the item is on the way to us and you can reserve it now. Pre-ordering allocates stock to your order, so you're first in line if there's a shortage or a price increase.
  • Backorder: you've ordered an item that's temporarily out of stock, and it ships when the next batch arrives on the date shown.
  • Out of stock with no date: we restock manually rather than on a fixed schedule, so we won't post a date we can't stand behind. Tap Notify me on the product page and we'll email you the moment it's back.

If a backorder or pre-order runs late

Restock and pre-order timing can change, which is beyond our control. Rather than leaving you guessing, if an item with an advertised ship date gets delayed, we automatically add a $5 store credit to your account for that item and suggest in-stock alternatives, so you have options while you wait. For an out-of-stock item shown as "We do not have an in-stock date at this time," that $5 credit is applied automatically after 30 days. The credit posts to your account on its own, so there's nothing to claim. You can check the current ship date anytime in your account, or message us to change or cancel a backordered item.
