Cube care & reassemblyUpdated 5 hours ago
Popped a piece? That's a two-minute fix
A "pop" is when a piece comes out during a fast turn. Nothing is broken, and it goes right back in. Our video guides walk through popping a piece back into place for most puzzles: Reassembly & popping guides. If you'd rather we do it, send it back and we'll reassemble it for you.
Keeping it turning like new
- Lubrication. Turning slows or dries out over time. Re-lubing brings the smoothness back and prevents premature wear. Not sure which to use? See Which lubricant should I use?
- Tensioning. Most modern cubes let you adjust how tight or loose the cube feels. Looser is faster and pops more easily; tighter is more stable but less flexible. Small changes go a long way, so adjust a little at a time.
- Keep it clean. Wipe hands before long sessions and keep the cube stored in a bag or box. Dust and grit are what wear a cube down fastest.
